Material Definition Preparation

You will be able to find details on how to create and maintain materials here but just to start thinking about what information TilliT can use so you can start to collate or think on integration with wherever this information is currently being kept.

1 - Quality tolerances

As a digital operation platform, TilliT will be able to help you with quality validation and bill of material verification.

This means if part of your manufacturing process involves validating a specification such as the level of brix, percentage of alcohol or some measure of density against a minimum and maximum setpoint, TilliT will have to hold that information.

Quality tolerances can be set on a material level. You use this if the setpoint changes depending on the material, but doesn't change order by order.

As a preparation, try to source all the material tolerances and have a spreadsheet ready. You will have to format that information into the right columns so that it can be uploaded into TilliT.

2 - Material Attributes

Attributes in TilliT are just information we load into a material, asset or order. You can load a Text, a Boolean (True/False) or a number.

Attributes can be used to inform the operator of characteristics of the material that is being produced, used in reporting, or to drive the activity generation.

Think about what the key attributes are of a material that drives different activities or that are useful for the operator to consult. 

3 - Material Components

One of the features of TilliT is the ability to validate a bill of material components.

This helps you to validate that the batch of raw material that is being scanned contains the code of a valid component. TilliT simply needs a list of components you want to verify for every material being produced.
