Creating a Material
Overview
In the TilliT DO setup, the materials are referring to both the consumed and produced objects/items when running the assigned asset.
The materials to consume are often called the Bill of Materials (BOM) items and the produced material is called Finished Goods or Semi-Finished Goods.
Create a Material
To create a Material definition, go to Settings > Material Definition > Materials:
Click the Actions > Create button; this will open a new pop-up config window:
In the Create Material pop-up screen, complete the following;
- ID - generated by TilliT. This cannot be changed.
- Name - this is the text name of the material.
- Group - sets the Material Group of this material.
- Uom - sets the Unit of Measure of this material
- Active - as an alternative to deleting config, you can enable or disable the material
- Can Produce - this will define if the user can have an order assigned to this item. This also enables filtering the items on the selections; including the functionality to create an order against the defined material.
- Can Consume - defines if this material can be used as a Material Component.
- External ID - this is the unique material identification.
- Barcode Reference - this is the material assigned GTIN or EAN code.
- Default Run Rate - this is the nominal rate of the material running in the bottleneck.
- Display Order - defines the order sequence for the material in the item list.
Click the Save and close button to finalise.
Once you have created a material, you will be able to set up it's Attributes, Tolerances and Components.
